The exhibition SECOND is a proposal of the curator and editor Gianmaria Andreetta, with Huw Lemmey, Luzie Meyer, Becket MWN, Angharad Williams and Bruno Zhu. It highlights the writing and design strategies of a group of artists* assembled by editor and curator Gianmaria Andreetta. The newly commissioned works for the exhibition address the critical relationship between the artists' literary works and the production of publicity, pointing to that which was once materially inaccessible or nonexistent, and that which was overshadowed by the larger picture. By revisiting earlier works and examining previously unconsidered objects, Second uses practice-based investigations to reimagine core concepts of collaboration, transience, and fiction. This kind of commissioning highlights the ways in which artists* devote themselves to writing in order to create art, forge editorial relationships, and stimulate discourse about the value of words.
