The filmmaker and artist Éric Baudelaire (*1973 in Salt Lake City/US, lives and works in Paris/FR) will present the whole range of his work at Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen. Pressing issues of the present, such as redistribution and the climate crisis, form the thematic bracket for the new productions of the artist, who was awarded the ‹Prix Marcel Duchamp› in 2019. Baudelaire's research-based practice is informed by his interest in the creation of images through artistic language that are capable of illustrating complex systems. For the exhibition, Baudelaire creates a large-scale video and spatial installation in which the flower – real and metaphorical – serves as a starting point for exploring life. His precise and profound observations span a network of connections: from the everyday concerns of human existence to the grand socio-political and economic structure of the world.
